Hafren Volunteers

Support Hafren and the Arts: Volunteering

The Theatre is a busy venue, with over 150 events and cinema screenings every year. For each event, a team of dedicated Front of House volunteers work on the doors of the theatre to welcome customers, check their tickets and show them to their seats (as well as a few other responsibilities!).

As a thank you for their help, the volunteers get to see the show that they are helping on for free - that includes everything from live theatre, comedy, live bands and the latest film and National Theatre releases. It's a great way to see as many performances and screenings as you can without breaking the bank, and to become part of a friendly team of fellow arts lovers.

Earn credits each shift you work

There are regular training events to keep your skills refreshed, and you'll earn a Tempo Time Credit for each shift you work! Part of a National UK scheme, Tempo Time Credits can be built up and exchanged for lots of different experiences such as entry to National Trust and CADW properties, to a swim/gym session in your local sports centre. It's a nice reward for volunteering your time. You can even spend them back with us at The Hafren.

Duke of Edinburgh Students welcome

We also offer placements for Duke of Edinburgh students looking to obtain their 'Service' part of the award. All students must be aged 16+ and will not be scheduled on for events with a higher age certification.
