GIANT, the 5-star critically acclaimed play starring John Lithgow (Killers of the Flower Moon, The Crown) as Roald Dahl, comes to the big screen.

Winner of 3 Olivier Awards® including Best Play and a Tony Award® for Best Actor in a Play (John Lithgow), the production was filmed live in London’s West End ahead of its sold-out Broadway run. The stellar cast includes Aya Cash (The Boys, The Franchise, You’re the Worst), Elliot Levey (Cold War, Patriots, Good) and Rachael Stirling (The Divine Mrs S).

A world-famous children’s author under threat. A battle of wills in the wake of scandal. And one chance to make amends...It’s the summer of 1983, The Witches is about to hit the shelves and Roald Dahl is making last-minute edits.  But the outcry at his recent, explicitly antisemitic article won’t die down. Across a single afternoon at his family home, and rocked by an unexpectedly explosive confrontation, Dahl is forced to choose: make a public apology or risk his name and reputation.

Inspired by real events, GIANT explores with dark humour the difference between considered opinion and dangerous rhetoric offering a complicated portrait of a fiendishly charismatic icon.

WAFR: Playhouse of the Air in
The Chimes: Dickens on Air

'A Festive Story to Ring the Old Year Out and the New Year In.'

It is Christmas 1950 in New York and the actors of WAFR: Playhouse of the Air gather for their annual festive broadcast... There is a new government, a new hope, a new world, so what better than a new play? And there is no better story-teller than Charles Dickens - and there is no better man to keep Christmas than he!

Trotty Veck is a ticket-porter - a man who fetches and carries packages, letters and deliver-ies for a small sixpence here and there. He doesn’t have much but he is happy, gentle and lives a simple, obedient life.

That life is given its order by the sound of the bells of his local church - breakfast, lunch, din-ner all from the sound of the bells. He sometimes even hears them speaking to him…

In the run-up to the festive season Trotty falls asleep after a long day’s carrying and deliver-ing. Woken by the church bells, The Chimes, and then summoned up the tower by their mys-terious power, he has just one chance to change this world… but will he listen to the bells?

The Chimes is a Victorian It’s a Wonderful Life filled with all of the master story-teller’s colour-ful characters and heart-rending poignancy.

Fresh their hugely popular adaptations of A Christmas Carol and Casablanca, Lighthouse Theatre brings their signature live radio play style to this classic by the most theatrical of au-thors. There will be jingles, carols, music and - of course - bells!… this show is sure to be fast and funny, inventive and entertaining; but most of all a Christmas treat to reinforce the message of this festive time of the year…

Recommended for ages 10 and above.

Spurred on by a bet, two young men hatch a plan to test the fidelity of their girlfriends. What follows is a slippery game of seduction and power, the four lovers plunging into a dizzying world of shifting reality, where truth becomes increasingly unstable.

Così fan tutte has lost none of its sting since it first scandalised audiences in 1790. In her Main Stage debut, Netia Jones, Associate Director of The Royal Opera, reimagines Mozart’s comedy of manners through a sharp contemporary lens, where 18th-century romantic trickery meets deeply satirical high-tech deceit.

Taking on the roles of the lovers is an exciting young cast led by Louise Alder, Simone McIntosh, Mingjie Lei and Huw Montague Rendall, with Gerald Finley as their manipulative game-master Don Alfonso and Emily Pogorelc as Despina. Thomas Hengelbrock conducts, bringing out the exquisite melodies that underpin the provocative, and resolutely modern, themes at the heart of the opera.

At a garden party on a sunny afternoon, Alice is surprised to see her parents’ friend Lewis Carroll transform into a white rabbit. When she follows him down a rabbit hole, events become curiouser and curiouser…

As Alice journeys through Wonderland, she encounters countless strange creatures. She’s swept off her feet by the charming Knave of Hearts, who’s on the run for stealing the tarts. Confusion piles upon confusion. Then Alice wakes with a start. Was it all a daydream?

Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland burst onto the stage in 2011 in an explosion of colour, stage magic and inventive, sophisticated choreography. Joby Talbot’s score combines contemporary soundworlds with sweeping melodies that gesture to ballet scores of the 19th century. Bob Crowley’s wildly imaginative, eye-popping designs draw on everything from puppetry to projections to make Wonderland wonderfully real. The result shows The Royal Ballet at its best, bringing together world-class dance with enchanting family entertainment and ingenious music and design.

Stand-up comedian Sandro Ford is heading out on his first ever UK and Ireland tour, and it’s a big one. Titled Lager Than Life, this debut run brings Sandro’s unmistakable voice, sharp observations, and pub-bred storytelling to stages across the country.

Co-Host of the smash hit Problematic Pub Podcast and as seen on Have A Word, Dead Men Talking, and Hot Water Green Room, Sandro has quickly made a name for himself as a comic who tells it how it is. His comedy is rooted in real life — growing up, getting older, bad decisions, worse hangovers, and the sort of characters you only ever meet in or around a pub. Honest, self-aware, and unapologetically funny, his material feels lived-in and instantly relatable.

Lager Than Life is a celebration of nights that spiral, mates who never change, and the quiet chaos of everyday British life. Sandro’s relaxed delivery and natural crowd connection allow his punchlines to land effortlessly, turning familiar situations into moments of pure comedy. One minute he’s dissecting modern masculinity, the next he’s deep into a story that probably should’ve stayed off record — but you’re glad it didn’t.

This tour marks the next step for a comic firmly on the rise, bringing his most personal and hard-hitting material yet to live audiences. Whether you’ve followed his podcast appearances or are discovering him for the first time, expect big laughs, brutal honesty, and stories that hit close to home.

So get a drink in, find your seat, and brace yourself. With Sandro Ford, it’s always Down the Hatch. Lovelyyy

Roll up, roll up! Or use a more conventional form of transport to get to the show.  It’s entirely your choice. Unless you accidentally become trapped in a barrel*. Should that happen, then just find an incline and start rolling to see the one and only Ross Noble!

He is the Wizard of Waffle, The Rambler Royale, The Noodlers’ Noodler, and he’s back live on stage to tour a tornado of tangents.

What the show will be about is anybody’s guess, but that’s all part of the fun when you look inside his Cranium of Curiosities.

*We strongly advise trying not to get trapped in a barrel before or during the performance.  Despite the expression “barrel of laughs,” it may impede your enjoyment of the show.

THE MAKINGS OF A MURDERER: FATAL MISTAKE
with Donal MacIntyre

They planned the murder. They covered their tracks.

They thought they had got away with it.

They almost did.

In The Makings of a Murderer: Fatal Mistake, award-winning investigative journalist and broadcaster Donal MacIntyre examines the extraordinary true stories of killers who came terrifyingly close to escaping justice.

These are the murderers who lied convincingly, destroyed evidence, created false alibis and, in some cases, remained free for years.

But somewhere, something went wrong.

A tiny forensic trace. A forgotten witness. A change in behaviour. A piece of CCTV. A phone call. A contradiction. One mistake that finally began to unravel everything.

Drawing on some of the most compelling murder investigations of modern times, Donal takes audiences inside the hunt for killers who believed they had committed the perfect crime.

How did they avoid suspicion for so long? What finally gave them away?

And just how close did they really come to getting away with murder?

Gripping, revealing and packed with extraordinary real-life cases, The Makings of a Murderer: Fatal Mistake explores the killers who nearly beat the system - and the investigators, evidence and chance discoveries that finally brought them to justice.
